Job Title: Accountant/CPA

Our firm has been in the Vernon area since 1948, and has a longstanding history with our clients, as well as a diverse mixture of clients. We are growth-oriented and are looking for an accountant wanting to grow with us. Rapid advancement will be available for the right person.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 3+ years’ experience in public accounting preferred
License requirements: Licensed CPA preferred. Sitting for/already completed CPA Exam required.

Software Skills:

Microsoft products – specifically Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

QuickBooks – experience preferred

Tax Software – ProSystems or other comparable programs

Other relevant software for bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement preparation, and audit.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Sound GAAP and GAAS Knowledge

Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills

Ability to resolve complex accounting and tax issues

Ability to be primary contacts for client, prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients.

Proven solid verbal and written communication skills

Possess client development/relationship-building skills

Possess solid decision-making skills

Possess personal development and delegation skills, including training/instruction
